About the project
On January 1st, 2024, the iconic Walt Disney cartoon “Steamboat Willie” came into the public domain. Produced in 1928, “Steamboat Willie” was one of the very first cartoons produced with synchronized sound, as well as one of the first cartoons to feature a fully post-produced soundtrack. It is considered to be the debut of both Mickey and Minnie Mouse.
In homage to the legendary Mouse, and also taking advantage of this exciting opportunity, I began work on a new stage play, The Further Adventures of Steamboat Willie.
